SCHOOL MISSION

Assumption School is committed to provide an academic education directed at forming the whole child. We encourage the development of the intellectual, social, personal, and physical facets of the individual child by assisting their exploration using various classroom methods and techniques. Religious formation is geared to develop spiritual preparedness for the present and the future. We are a family of believers and a family of achievers.
Philosophy

Assumption School nurtures the spiritual growth of students through the example of faculty and staff, diverse prayer experiences school liturgies, sacramental experiences and daily religious studies. The Gospel message, studied in class and celebrated in worship, is put into practice through service to the community when opportunities may arise.

Our principal aim is to develop our students spiritually and academically for grade school. We seek to provide an academic education directed at forming the whole child. Assumption School faculty strives to develop each. child's strengths and to address their limitations by providing various learning experiences. We strive to create a climate where children feel secure and protected.
Objectives

The Assumption Early Childhood Center is dedicated to:
  1. Guide protect and nurture student growth and development.
  2. Provide activities that are flexible for both large and small groups.
  3. Meet all state and local requirements.
  4. Keep open lines of communication with parents.
  5. Realize that each child is an individual and learns at his/her own rate.

Family Involvement

The Parent Teacher Association (P.T.A.) of Assumption School is a very active dedicated, and vital organization. All parents are encouraged to become members. Agendas include enrichment activities for all students parent/teacher activities, socials and fandraisers. Funds raises are used to keep tuition rates affordable and supplement school expenses not covered by tuition.
Communication

An atmosphere is encouraged through a weekIv communication envelope and articles printed periodically in the Parish Bulletin. Teachers will be in frequent communication and on an as-needed basis.
Faculty

Assumption teachers are role models guiding students towards a love of learning and challenging them to reach their full potential. Using Jesus as their role model the teachers provide students with an example to follow in dealing with their peers and others. They foster a genuine Christian atmosphere. Our teachers are state certified and work with classroom aides to provide a strong foundation for students.
Admissions Policies

Assumption School does not discriminate on the basis of race, sex, national origin, and handicap (if it is possible for the school to meet the child's needs with reasonable accommodations). Children are admitted on a first-come basis depending upon availabity of space in the program. Parents must complete all registration forms, pay the registration fees, and keep tuition current. The Principa/Director may require the parent(s) to withdraw a child if, in his/ber opinion, it is not in the best interest of the child/other children for placement to continue.
Procedure and Policies

  1. In the event of an emergency, the school will be in contact with parents. Parents should furnish necessary emergency information to the school.
  2. As a Christian community, we encourage non-violent/safe behavior and play. The administration reserves the right to determine the appropriateness of toys.
  3. For the safety of all children and staff members, parents or designated representatives should report to the school office before visiting during times when school is in session.
  4. Our goal is to develop in each student a sense of self-discipline which grows out of respect for oneself and others.
  5. We request an extra set of clothing to be left in school for emergencies.
  6. Kindergarten students will line up with the main student body. On rainy days, car riders may be drdpped off at the school's main entrance.
  7. Pre-school students are to be dropped off by the front door of the hall exiting on the passenger side along the hall. Parents may enter the horsesshoe between the school and hall (close to the hall) and leave by the church driveway.
  8. Changes from usual method of transportation must be put in writing.
